Jane Wathome :Jane is the Visionary, life and heart behind our Frontline Ministry – Beacon of Hope, our Frontline ministry to women infected and affected by HIV and Aids. She has given exemplary leadership at BOH from its initial inception in 2002 when the obeyed the Lord’s call during her internship at Nairobi Chapel and reached out to these women in the Quarry Slum of Ongata Rongai. She realized that God had equipped her with gifts and talents to bring hope, significance and self-worth to those women and has embraced them beyond the individual to their families and the larger community around the area.Jane serves everyone who comes to Beacon of Hope with great humility and a deeps sense of caring for each one as an individual. Her commitment to those she cares for has seen Beacon of Hope become a Center of Excellence that provides the following services – Child School Sponsorship, Beacon Academy, Spiritual Counselling, Home Based HIV-Aids care, A Comprehensive Health Care and VCT, Vocational Training, Ciondo Women Group for Grandmothers caring for their orphaned grandchildren and Youth Resource Centers. You need to know that the number of little Janes running around Ongata Rongai has significantly increased since Jane started serving this community. The women there honor her by naming children after her!
Joe Radkovic: Joe has served with great commitment out Frontline Ministry of the Tumaini Clinics in Kibera and Korogocho for the last 5 years. His commitment to excellent and loving care of each patient who walks into the clinics and even more of the mothers coming to the maternity to have their babies is highly commendable. He has had to commute innumerable times and in the middle of the night to the maternity clinic to care for a mother who is having a difficult care that only a medical doctor can resolve. His devotion to giving excellent gospel care alongside excellent medical care is a great value that he has passed on to his staff and volunteers and has made the Tumaini Clinics the Health Care Providers par Excellence in the slums of Kibera and Korogocho.Joe serves with great humility and a real servant heart. Many times we have called on him on times of crises to serve us here at the church and he comes without a second thought. Recently, a young girl called Irene came to our offices with a very difficult pregnancy and needed urgent intervention. While it was out of his way, Joe came, bought Irene lunch, counselled with her, drove her to Korogocho for a Ultrasound, made available funds for her delivery and now she has twins, one of whom she named Joe!
Deborah Kimathi:Debbie has served with great diligence as one of our Frontline Visionaries at Seed of Hope where she is the Field Director. Seed of Hope makes provides wholisitc care including vocational training to girls who primarily have dropped out of school due to lack of school fees. Her desire is to equip and empower disadvantaged teenage girls for self-sufficient and independent living; through vocational training, business training and the teaching of life-skills; and through continually nurturing physical mental, emotional, social and spiritual development.Since 2002, this ministry has had approx. 240 graduates, about 75% of whom are either in employment or self-employment who graduate after a 2 year program at Seed of Hope. Debbie runs 4 centers currently engaging 320 girls in Nairobi, Kitui, Kisii and Murang’a.Debbie serves as a great role model to the girls because she interacts with them as a peer. She allows them to see her into life and while she challenges them to excellence and distinction, she lives that out her self. This comes from the knowledge that one of the greatest challenges of the ministry is in nurturing self-esteem and self-confidence amongst the girls many of whom come to the centers from very difficult backgrounds. Without this the other skills they try to impart are almost meaningless.Debbie empowers her staff team unreservedly and has enthused them with caring for the girls at Seed of Hope as passionately as she herself does. Her desire is to see many disadvantaged teenage girls who had lost hope of making anything of their lives find a place of refuge, care, affirmation, love, dignity and opportunity.

Today, K-krew has three different arms; Mission, Media and Events. The Mission arm of K-krew does outreach in high schools around the country every term. Last year alone over 450 students gave their lives to Christ. The Media arm of K-krew uses both Radio and TV to reach out to young people through music. In radio, Kkrew has produced different radio shows including the popular “Klub Kubamba”. K-krew is currently seeking a Radio frequency after getting an opportunity to air their own content on a leased frequency last year.K-Krew have also had the opportunity to host different shows on TV like Crossover 101 on NTV last year and Gospel Sunday which airs every Sunday from 6am Citizen TV.K-krew also hosts events that create a positive environment where young people can have fun. Every last Friday of the month, K-krew organizes Chillage at the village at Village Market where young people can bowl and shoot pool as they dance to funky gospel music. Every year, KKrew hosts an end year event dubbed T.S.O.
Last year, T.S.O was held at Nairobi Chapel and had over 30, 000 young people in attendance.Surely God has been good to KKrew in many ways and looking back at where He has brought them from, we are confident of where He is leading them.
